Dear St. Catherine of Siena Parishioners,
It is with great joy that I announce Seminarian Brett Barrios will be serving at St. Catherine of Siena this summer. Seminarian Brett will be ordained a transitional deacon this coming December, at St. Louis Cathedral. Different than past seminarians, he is assigned to serve at St. Catherine of Siena ahead of his diaconate ordination. His internship will be during June and July this summer. We are looking forward to having Brett serve at SCS! Please pray for Brett as he concludes his studies before arriving at St. Catherine.
Having a seminarian assigned to SCS is a great testament to our parish community. The Archdiocese and the seminary have entrusted Brett as he prepares for the priesthood to serve here and to be formed in preparation for future priestly ministry. St. Catherine of Siena is known for being an active, faith-filled community that welcomes and supports vocations. For the several years, SCS has been blessed to have a number of transitional deacons and seminary interns.
Thank you to the SCS vocations committee for their efforts in helping to create a culture of vocations at St. Catherine. Thank you to all who pray for vocations, particularly those who take part in our vocation cross program. Please continue to pray for vocations into the priesthood and religious sisterhood, specifically from SCS. There are men and women from SCS considering religious life. Please pray for them and their discernment.
Fr. Tim
I grew up right here in Metairie and went to St. Angela Merici. I graduated from Archbishop Rummel in 2007. I have four siblings, two older and two younger. Before discerning the priesthood, my background was in restaurant operations. I felt my first calling to the priesthood while attending Mass around age 10.
God has blessed me with the opportunity to discern my vocation in seminary, and I am grateful for this summer assignment to grow in pastoral experience. I look forward to getting to know all of you, serving in the parish, and learning from Fr. Hedrick and Fr. Seay.
Please keep me in your prayers, and know that I will be praying for you as well! I look forward to getting to know the St. Catherine of Siena Family!
