It is with great joy that I announce Deacon Cuong Tran, a transitional deacon, will be serving at St. Catherine of Siena Parish.
In May, Deacon Cuong was ordained a transitional deacon at St. Louis Cathedral. Starting June 1 until mid-October, he will be assigned to SCS for his diaconate internship. The Archdiocese and Notre Dame Seminary have entrusted our parish to prepare Deacon Cuong for his future priestly ministry. We are looking forward to having Cuong serve at SCS. To learn more about Deacon Cuong Tran, please see his letter of introduction below.
St. Catherine of Siena is known for being an active, faith-filled community that welcomes and supports vocations. For the last eight years, SCS has been blessed to have a number of transitional deacons and seminary interns. Thank you to Rich and Leslie Baudry and to the SCS vocations committee for their efforts in helping to create a culture of vocations at St. Catherine. Thank you to all who pray for vocations, particularly those who take part in our vocation cross program. Please continue to pray for vocations specifically from SCS. There are currently a number of young men considering entering the seminary from SCS. Please pray for them and their discernment.

About Cuong Tran
My name is Cuong Tran. I grew up on the Westbank and joined St. Joseph seminary college right after graduating from Archbishop Shaw High School in 2016. After seven long years of prayer, study, and preparation, I am excited to be serving as a deacon at SCS. I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know everyone over the coming months. Please keep me in your prayers so that I may be well-prepared for ordination to the diaconate on May 20. May this Easter season be a time to increase “the fire of our desire and let not a moment pass without crying to God with humble voice… on behalf of our neighbors” - The Dialogue of St. Catherine.
