A series of presentations covering topics dealing with end of life issues will be held in the Barrett Complex Monday, January 27
th through Wednesday January 29
th. It may seem unnecessary, but being informed ahead of time can help when stress and worries make decision making much more difficult later.
On Monday, Father Jose Lavastida will speak about bioethical and medical issues. He will speak on topics such as palliative care, feeding tubs, pain control, refusing treatment, removing life support, and other common medical experiences.
On Tuesday, Dr. Tom Neal of Notre Dame Seminary will present on our mission as Catholics to continue the mission of Christ and the Church. Jim Ryder will also discuss practical ways to support the Church. This is how we create our Catholic legacy!
On Wednesday, Mr. Kevin Hasson, funeral director from Jacob Schoen and Sons Funeral Home, will explain the process of planning the funeral and answering common questions of families of the deceased and how we can prepare now to lessen the decisions for our families to make.
