St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Metairie, LA is accepting applications for a new, full-time position: Director of Liturgy and Sacraments.  The Director of Liturgy and Sacraments will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of parish liturgy and all sacramental preparation and programs. 

Applicants must be a practicing Catholic and have good communication skills to work with parishioners of all ages and stages of life.  3 - 5 years of experience working with liturgy and sacramental preparation and a degree in Religious Education, Pastoral Ministry or the equivalent are preferred. GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Liturgy

• Provide administrative support for all parish liturgies 
• Coordinate and serve as a staff liaison for all liturgical ministries.
• Serve on the parish liturgy committee to assist in planning of parish liturgies.
• Guide parishioners through all necessary training and procedures to become liturgical ministers.
• Coordinate events and speakers for Masses.

Sacraments

• Serve as a point of contact for all parishioners seeking sacramental preparation
• Coordinate and schedule baptisms, weddings, and funerals ensuring all necessary paperwork is complete.
• Collaborate with the pastor, school CRE and Director of Youth Ministry on sacramental preparation for school and PSR students as well as the planning of First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation liturgies.
• Maintain all parish sacramental records.

The Director of Liturgy and Sacraments is also responsible for all aspects of the Safe Environment program.
