JANUARY INTENTIONS
For Thanksgiving and Christmas, the overwhelming generosity of our community reflected the love of God to the many people we were blessed to serve through food distribution and the Christmas Angel Tree. The Christmas concert and liturgies beautifully celebrated the gift of the Incarnation of our Lord. Our Advent preaching series reminded us that we are able to greet the new year with hope because of our sure knowledge that Jesus redeemed us from slavery to Sin and Death. As we enter 2023, “may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” Rom 15:13.
Please say the Parish Prayer daily for the following intentions in January:
• For all involved with the Men’s ACTS Retreat in January, Alpha, and The Rescue Project, that their lives are transformed by an encounter with Jesus through the Holy Spirit.
• For those attending the CYO Leadership Retreat, that they may respond to the Lord’s invitation to grow in intimacy with Him.
• For all SCS youth receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation and for their families, that this fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit renew and enliven their faith.
• For the SCS outreach ministries (Courage, EnCourage, Grief Support, Post-abortive Support, Surviving Divorce, Sanctuary Mental Health ministry), that all involved may find the healing and comfort of Jesus.
• For all who participate in small groups across our parish, that the experience of faith sharing and authentic Christian community strengthen their individual faith journeys.
• For the safety of all who will participate in the March for Life, for the continued efficacy of the pro-life movement, and that states may enact laws that recognize the value and dignity of every life from conception to natural death.
• For renewed peace and unity in the Church, our country, and around the world, for an end to division, and for true conversion of heart for all who promote causes that are contrary to the human dignity of every person.
• For the protection of priests, deacons, staff and ministry leaders at SCS as they work to facilitate in our parish the growth of a culture that nurtures the development of disciples of Jesus; for Dcn. Don Richard as he continues treatment for cancer; and for Fr. Ronnie, that he may be filled with Christ’s grace and peace.
God Our Father, we thank you for our parish community of St. Catherine of Siena. Thank you for the many blessings that you have given us, but especially for calling us to serve as disciples of your son, Jesus Christ. As we gather today, we ask that you send your Holy Spirit to guide us in everything that we do. Transform our hearts and lead us closer to you. Help us always to seek to be a parish that is Centered on Christ and Ablaze with Love. We ask all of these things in the name of Jesus, and through the intercession of our Blessed Mother. St. Catherine of Siena, pray for us!
