There is an open Alcoholics Anonymous meeting for Men on Wednesday Nights. The meeting takes place from 8 pm to 9 pm in the main room of the Melancon Center located at 1643 Metairie Road, Metairie, LA 70005.

Courage members are men and women who experience same-sex attractions and who have made a commitment to strive for chastity. They are inspired by the Gospel call to holiness and the Catholic Church’s beautiful teachings about the goodness and inherent purpose of human sexuality. Through this ministry, people who experience same-sex attraction receive pastoral support in the form of spiritual guidance, community prayer support, and fellowship. EnCourage is a ministry within Courage dedicated to the spiritual needs of parents, siblings, children, and other relatives and friends of persons who have same-sex attractions. Standing by the true teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, EnCourage members support one another and their loved ones through discussion, prayer and fellowship. Surviving Divorce: Hope and Healing for the Catholic Family
Surviving Divorce is a 12 week program that was created to bring hope and healing to those who have experienced the pain and loneliness of a broken marriage. It is for the newly separated and divorced and those still struggling with issues many years later. It will help them answer their questions, restore hope, and begin authentic healing. The Grief Support Program is part of the SCS Bereavement Ministry and is a ten-week series designed to assist participants through the journey of grieving the loss of a loved one. Using The New Day Journal by Mauryeen O'Brien, participants will be guided through the four stages of grief. In addition to prayer and scripture readings, the program will make use of activities such as small group discussion, journaling, and other selected readings to help participants move toward healing. The mental health ministry that offers a variety of programs to support to those struggling with mental health issues as well as family members who have loved ones with mental health issues. Have you had an abortion, and you are still in need of healing? Do you sometimes feel like you don’t belong in church because of your past abortion? Are you seeking support from other women and men who have suffered the pain of choosing abortion? No matter where you are on your healing journey, this group is for you. It is 100% confidential, and all attendees will sign a confidentiality agreement. Details on location and time for the series will be provided upon sign-up.
